Many folks have been offering me well-intentioned wisdom from their experiences raising kids -- one of the most unusual today:
"This is something somone told me when my wife was 8 months pregnant, that the first year, you get nothin', all you do is change diapers, feed and try to stop them from crying. But one day after about a year, you'll come home and your kid will really recognize you and smile in a way you will never ever forget."
