Twinkle, twinkle

Here's Caroline on Thanksgiving night, checking out the lights in the front yard.  Turn up the volume and listen closely -- when she sees the star on the small tree she sings "Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star' -- the whole first verse.

Waffles on the Mothership

This morning, Caroline's and my morning routine needed a little something new.  Breakfast is just what it is and milk and/or juice can only be so interesting.

Enter the funk.

I took my phone and  played a little Parliament ("Give Up The Funk") and you should know that this girl can dance

I couldn't get a video, because my phone wouldn't play the music and record at the same time, but I couldn't be more proud that my DNA for getting down will live on.

Caroline and the King of Pop

Caroline's on the way down to the beach for the first time and really enjoying the Michael Jackson tribute mom and dad are playing on the ipod. We're over half way through the "best of" album, and interestingly enough, she's singing along with "Black and White"...what a PC baby we have. It's a good thing that her carseat faces the rear so she doesn't have to witness her dad's dance party.

Mid-morning update

So its 3:04 a.m. Handing off responsibilities to Melissa. I think Caroline should sleep from here on -- let's just say we went through 3 diapers in 20 minutes, preceded by about 2 hours of what I now know is the buildup to that little masquerade.

The DVR is key to my life already. Not only does it have entertainment better than the garden-variety infomercials at this time of night, I really needed the ability to pause tonight.

I'm thinking of songs that I like that might be soothing sung as lullabyes. Here's what I tried tonight:

U2's 'MLK' (from Unforgettable Fire)
Oasis - 'Wonderwall', 'Acquiesce'
Tom Petty - 'Crawling back to you'
Ryn Adams - 'When the stars go blue'
Whiskeytown - 'Excuse me while I break my own heart'
Wilco - 'Dash 7'
