Hotness

Team, nothing tragic, but Caroline is a sick baby tonight. A sinus infection has spread to her ears, and she has a 102+ fever. She now has antibiotics and steady dose of Tylenol, but we have not yet kicked the fever.

I know kids get fevers a lot and this is nothing exceptional in the grand scheme of things, but it is still scary when your kid has something in her body that's not good for her, and nothing you do makes it go away immediately.

You tell yourself it's just a fever and ear infection and it happens to kids a lot and she'll be better tomorrow and then wonder how in the world any kids survived in the middle ages, but since they did, without the medicine she has now, you know she'll be fine, but you want to make it go away right away because you can't stand the thought of not bring able to fix it for her.

And at that point it's more than a fever because it's Caroline's fever.

So say a prayer tonight for Caroline -- and also all the kids who have bigger problems, and their parents -- I'm so thankful to have only had to worry about fevers and antibiotics.
